Tom
Peters founded TPG Learning Systems in Palo Alto, California
in 1984. While Tom focused on his speaking, writing and
thought leadership, Reuben Harris and a close group of
associates managed TPG Learning Systems, and worked with
clients who were keen to implement the core ideas from
In Search of Excellence in their businesses. As the “Excellence
Movement” spread into Europe and beyond, an international
office for consulting and training, TPG Partners Ltd,
was opened in London in 1986.
Jim Kouzes joined TPG Learning Systems in 1988 to Chair
the US consulting and training business, and our signature
Executive Skunk Camps, Excellence Audits and Creating
Value for Customers implementations were supplemented
by his Leadership Challenge™ Workshops.
Tom’s legendary “Skunk Camps” were launched
in Europe in 1989, a project that was championed by Madeleine
McGrath and Richard King. Richard and Madeleine joined
the UK business full time in 1991, and have built up a
team that has a great understanding of how Tom’s
ideas can be turned to practical use in organisations.
Boyd Clarke became CEO of TPG Learning Systems in 1997,
moved the head office to Cincinnati, and initiated a period
of growth and change. In 1999, the US and UK businesses
were rebranded Tom Peters Company and Tom Peters Company
Ltd, respectively, and three new methodologies, Wow! Projects,
PSF, and Brand You were introduced based on Tom’s
strategies for the coming white-collar revolution. In
2004 Juli Ann Reynolds set up Tom Peters Company LLC in
Boston and was its President and CEO until 2009.
Tom Peters Company Ltd based in London under the leadership
of Madeleine McGrath and Richard King now manages all
worldwide consulting and training activities. We remain
true to our heritage and serve clients who display that
same passion for Excellence that first emerged in the
80’s. |
